| In 1914, the Japanese “Fang Niang She” was the largest distillery in Taiwan. With a century of history, it was abandoned for a period of time, undergoing a change from prosperity to decline. Today, it has become a popular location for art performances, culture, fashion, and life aesthetics in Taipei City. Situated on the intersection of Zhongxiao East Road and Bade Road, the once unremarkable space beside a busy elevated bridge has been transformed into a stage for culture, creativity, humanism, and art. Huashan 1914 Creative Park has become a place of leisure for city dwellers. During the day, people can be seen relaxing, chatting, or walking their dogs, while groups of friends sit and chat in pubs renovated from old buildings at night. The space also becomes the stage for creative markets for the young at the weekend. |

繁華台北市的喘息窗口
從忠孝東路步行接近基地時，仰頭而見的是隱於都市中的煙囪，如
今大樓林立使其淹沒於台北天際線，但煙囪的都市印象依然深植於
記憶中。初踏入「華山文化創意園區」總被那特殊的氛圍震懾住，
似有道無形的牆隔離了車水馬龍的吵雜，彷彿來到世外桃源，馬路
上快速的車流與匆忙腳步、擁擠忙碌的都市氣息被園區的大樹隔絕
於外，你會讚嘆在喧囂的都市中竟有一塊淨土。園中一座座充滿歷
史痕跡的建築、堆砌的紅磚黑瓦、拱圈窗櫺、綠樹光影與具時代象
徵的煙囪，讓人感覺如同掉入時光的萬花筒，令人不禁佇足品味。
在華山，特色展演空間座落於園區的各處，穿越一個個轉角巷弄，
你會發現在轉彎處就有讓人有意想不到的美。現今的華山，不再是
被人遺忘的酒廠，而是在原文化遺跡中附有新文化新生命的創意基
地。

Lift your head while walking to the park from Zhongxiao East Road, and see the chimneys hidden in the city, blocked from view and vanishing into the skyline. The impression of city chimneys is embedded deep into the memory. A first-time visitor is always impressed by the unique atmosphere of Huashan 1914 Creative Park. There seems to be an invisible wall separating the noise of the busy streets. The park seems to be a celestial space that blocks out fast cars, rushing footsteps and business of urban life with the tall trees of the park. You will be amazed that it is possible to find a piece of tranquil land in the middle of the city. Within the park is a historical building composed of red brick and black tiles, arched windows, the light and shadow of trees, all prompting you to fall into a kaleidoscope of time and space, causing people to stop and savor.
With Huashan, characteristic exhibition and performance spaces are scattered throughout the park. Pass through one after another, and discover unexpected beauty at each turn. Huashan today is no longer a forgotten distillery, but a creative space that endows new culture and life into a cultural relic
