日本建築大師團紀彥的建築共生思想
The Japanese Architecture Master – Dan Norihiko’s Philosophy of Symbiotic Architecture

The Japanese architecture master Dan Norihiko who designed the Sun Moon Lake Visitor Information Center and the Reconstruction Project of Terminal 1 of Taoyuan International Airport was invited by The Taichung Association of Interior Design & Decoration to deliver a speech on “The Philosophy of Symbiotic Architecture” to explain the importance of the association between architecture and environment.
設計台灣南投日月潭向山遊客中心、桃園國際機場第一航廈改建案的日本建築大師團紀彥,接受台中市室內設計裝修商業同業公會邀請,演講「建築共生思想」,說明環境與建築的關聯性。

Imagine the sketched points and lines are parts of the environment. The circle in the lower left corner is a pond. Beside it, some plants are beginning to grow. Their feelers are stretching up to encounter other vegetation; they growth together in the natural environment tranquilly, assembling and gathering. In this encounter, there are different boundaries among different groups; each of them competes in growing up. Imagine there is a bee flying among different territories, transporting pollens. They exist by coexisting. Then, a context is formed. The authentic context is going to transgress the boundaries. Different fertile land and environments will create different cognitions and values. At this time, we should abandon and reset all thinking and prejudices, and begin to rethink in accordance with local conditions regarding the new understanding of nature or the future of a city.
想像勾勒的線與點是環境的一部分,左下角的圓圈像是一個池塘,旁邊有一些植物開始長成,觸角往上與其他不同植栽交會,彼此靜合地生長在自然環境之中,拼湊而聚,而這當中會產生各種不同族群的境界線,彼此競相長出。你再想像有一隻蜜蜂在各不同領域穿梭、搬運花粉,彼此求生存的存在,將會產生一個脈絡,真實的脈絡確實即發生在越界的關係。不同的豐土與環境會產生不同的認知與價值觀,這時我們應該把一切的想法或偏見歸零,重新因地制宜地去思考,對於自然或是城市未來的新認知。

Master Dan Norihiko points out “the philosophy of symbiotic architecture” can be subdivided into the symbiotic relations between architectures and land, the symbiotic relations between architectures and surrounding buildings, and the symbiotic relations between architectures and time. He used Sun Moon Lake and Xiangshan Visitor Center to explain relations with the land to continue our attention to natural environment. With the concept of embracing Sun Moon Lake, a beautiful spot in the middle of the lake extends our visions to afar. At the same time, the remote landscapes are also zoomed in front of our eyes. It enables this architecture built with fair-faced cement with wood grain to blend into the lake’s surface to design an architectural site with uneven height.
團紀彥大師指出,「建築共生思想」可細分建築與大地共生、建築與周邊建築共生,以及建築與時間共生。以日月潭向山遊客中心來說明與大地之間的關係,延續對自然環境的關注,以環抱日月潭為理念,透過中間一處漂亮湖面,將視野延續到遠方,同時遠方的景也拉到觀者眼前,讓這棟以木紋模清水混凝土為主的建築物與湖邊美景結合,設計出高低不一的建築場域。

Omotesando, Tokyo is a good example for the symbiotic relations between the architecture and surrounding architectures. Master Dan accepted the design case of Hugo Boss, whose site is located around the corner of TOD’s designed by Ito Toyo. Most people do not discover that TOD’s is an “L” shape building. How does Master Dan transform the perspective of the original building that faces Omotesando to allow TOD’s present its complete look and feel to constitute a symbiotic relation? Omotesando is a boulevard saluted with zelkova on both sides. Imitating TOD’s, zelkova is used as the theme. Master Dan imagines Hugo Boss is in conditions of a tree, leaving the largest area to the land’s surface. When it grows up, it compresses before stretching to create different landscapes so that people, trees, and the environment are included in it.
建築與周邊建築共生的案例位於東京表參道,團大師接下HUGO BOSS設計案,基地就在伊東豊雄先生設計的TOD'S旁的轉角。絕大部分的人都沒發現TOD'S是L形大樓,那團大師要如何轉化原本建物面對表參道的面向,又能讓TOD'S展現它最完整的風貌,彼此共生?表參道是綠意盎然的櫸木大道,仿效TOD'S以櫸木作主題,團大師將HUGO BOSS想成是樹幹狀態,將最大面積留給地面層,往上長成時先壓縮再抽長,創造不同風景,讓人、樹跟周遭的關係都蘊含在其中。

At last, Master Dan explains how an architecture constitutes symbiotic relations with time. Terminal 1, Taoyuan International Airport has been used for more than three decades. He hopes to preserve it original image to allow passengers retain their memories of it. By preserving the old architectural structure, a roof resembles a bird’s wings is built. The idle balconies are used successfully to expand new usable spaces.
團紀彥大師最後說明建築如何與時間共生,台灣桃園機場第一航廈已運用30年的光景,希望保留舊有意象,讓造訪過的旅人保有對它的記憶,於是透過保留舊建築結構,建築如同鳥翼的屋頂,成功運用閒置露台,拓展新的使用空間。
 
The POSAMO Design Team agrees that there is no pre-existing utopia. In many situations, it requires the conflicts and struggles of the authentic conditions of the environment to form a real utopia. The city as well as the natural environment is full of conflicts created on the boundaries between different patchworks. Yet these conflicts evoke the emergence of the new relatedness between alienated fields. "Mediation" is the only notion of today that could regard all those conflicts a positive energy to turn a harsh chaos into a more fruitful symbiosis. - Norihiko Dan.
POSAMO十邑設計認同,沒有原本就存在的桃花源,很多時候需要環境的真實狀況,經過衝突掙扎才會產生真正的桃花源。城市如同自然環境,充滿因拼湊而形成不同界線,界線衍生為各式衝突。 然而,這些衝突促使相互疏離的區域產生嶄新的關係。「調解」是當今唯一能夠將衝突視為正面能量的主張,將混沌轉為欣欣向榮的共生。- 團紀彥
