The moon dreams of a mortal rabbit  The rabbit becomes an unpredictable child
We headed to artist Yu Teng-Chuan’s studio in Daya District in the morning mist. We were welcomed by an enthusiastic native dog, and noticed various unfinished works and some others that were beginning to take form in the artist’s large workspace. The hammering sounds of machines created echoes in this metal-roofed space, shaking the hearts of listeners.
月亮夢到凡間的兔子    兔子變成無法約束的孩子
今晨霧氤裊些,我們一行人飄飄然的來到了余燈銓老師位於大雅區的創作工作室,迎門而來的是精神抖擻的土狗迎賓,接著看到老師超大的工作場域中,立著許多尚未完成和已經初步成形的一些作品,敲敲打打的機器聲響,讓這鐵皮下的空間有著更多的迴音,震撼人心!
 
Yu said with a smile: “The story of The Tortoise and the Hare is familiar to many. Apart from having read it in storybooks or heard of it elsewhere, viewers can also encounter the thoughts behind these stories through public sculptures, which are internalized and then realized into actual forms for viewing. Nowadays, the lives of children are inseparable from electronic devices. We often see toddlers with pacifiers immediately quieting down when playing with iPads. This struck me deeply, and prompted me to create a work that combines current events, which lead to the birth of a rabbit playing with a laptop, reflecting the lives of modern people. Viewers feel the humor and are able to give more thought through this realistic depiction and dialogue with art.”
余老師笑臉盈盈的說著:「龜兔賽跑是大家耳熟能詳的童話故事,除了在書本閱讀過或是聽過,也能透過公共雕塑品去接觸到寓言故事內的思維行為,內化轉成實際的樣貌來呈現給大家觀賞!尤其現在的小孩生活都離不開3c產品,常看到稚嫩的小孩子咬著奶嘴就一直玩Ipad,就不會吵了!感觸相當深,因此想要塑造一個與時事結合的作品,所以就作了一個兔子在玩筆電,來反應科技時代人們生活的現況,透過這樣寫實的描寫,以藝術品來對話,讓人們有莞爾一笑的省思!」
 
Designer King Wang examined the rabbit sculpture being formed which returns to the sentiments of childhood and differs from the grandeur of previous works, but expresses infinite liveliness and freshness. He laughed and said: “This cooperation on the common area artworks between Chiaole Construction and artist Yu Den-Chuan seeks to break through previous styles, and combines the novelty of fairy tales. The method of arranging and conveying the space and theme of the common area to the artist has become key to the project. Imagining the view seen from the eyes of future residents under the beech tree in the outdoor courtyard: even the coffee trailer becomes a sculpture! When the leaves in the courtyard begin to fall in winter, the viewer is presented with a classic scene from “The Tortoise and the Hare!”
POSAMO 十邑設計首席設計師王勝正看見了仍在製作中兔子,彷彿回到了童年時光稚嫩的心情,有別於之前磅礡大器的作品豪氣,但卻有著充滿無限生氣的新氣,笑著說:「這次喬立建設的新案公設藝術品與余燈銓老師合作,希望突破以往風格,將趣味童話結合,在過程中如何規劃整體公設空間及主題方向傳達給藝術家,就是個關鍵!光是想像在戶外庭院櫸木的大樹下,未來住戶所見的景象,咖啡車也成了一座雕塑,當冬天的落葉飄在院落,可以看到經典龜兔賽跑很有意義的故事情景!」

City : An unfinished artwork
Art  : A shrunken city
Sculptures can be seen in public spaces such as lobbies and beaches throughout Europe and the USA. Displaying the greatness of all things, combining art with the land creates irreplaceable imagery, while installation art especially becomes a crucial source of nurture for space and land. Designer Wang stated that: “This time we have cooperated with the luxury residential project Chiaole Yong Rong, located on Taiwan Boulevard. The business owner hopes that everyone entering the city center of Taichung will be able to notice the artworks at first glance; therefore, I proposed the concept of ‘city dreams’ to bring together different imaginations of the future.”
都市  是一座未完成的藝術
藝術  是一座被縮小的城市
當今歐美國家的藝術雕塑常常可看見放在公共大廳、海
等,將藝術和大地融合進而創造出天地萬物空間的偉大,
這是不可取代的一種意象,而藝術品的裝置藝術更成為了
空間或是大地一份極重要的滋養。王設計師說:「這一次
與位在台灣大道的喬立雍容頂級建案合作,業主希望所有
的人在進入台中市第一眼都會注目到這樣的藝術創作品,
而我提出了都市.夢此概念帶來不同的未來想像。」
 
The two masters have tacitly used the city, architecture and Man, and interpersonal relationships as creative concepts and dialogue, which is also a dialogue with childhood memories. This is a process of returning to the childhood of the self, embracing the storybook tale of The Tortoise and the Hare despite different backgrounds of age, time, and space. 
兩位大師同時相當有默契的在創作上以都市概念、建築人、人與人之間來對話,這也是與兒時的記憶在對話,是一種迴想自我童年時代的一個歷程,雖然不同年齡時空背景卻都曾擁抱著一本故事書—龜兔賽跑的故事!
   
The view of the city contains various aspects, and presents different views and beauty when illuminated by the sunlight. The two masters are both creating a dream of the city, teaching people to proceed within the dreams of the city with a touch of clarity and purity. When the masters produce a powerful source inspired by purity and clarity, a scene crossing time and space is born!
都市的景觀有不同面向,陽光照射後更有不同的景觀和意,而兩位大師都在創造都市的夢想,以一種極純淨的思維手感,教大家如何在都市的夢想中前進,當兩位大師對於純與淨的觀點激發出無比強大的能量時,一個跨越時空的畫面就出現了!
 
Yu describes children to be the purest, while Wang added that the moon is also a pure form. When a child gazes at the dream of the moon, the rabbit is transformed into an elf who enters the mortal world. The creation is a great challenge, creating a square with lines, combining the enjoyment of coffee with beautiful scenery accompanied by artwork. The conversation between the pure child and the moon among a stone forest, creates a different atmosphere with changing light and shadows from morning to night. When the artworks are combined with the street and community courtyards within the city, it creates a local urban dream and a concept of an international city, inserted with cultural stories. 
余老師說小孩是最純淨的,王設計師說月亮也是最純淨,當小孩望著月亮的夢想,兔子就成為落入凡間的可愛小精靈,這次創作是一個很大的挑戰,以線條去推展造了一個廣場,讓喝咖啡結合景觀美景並伴隨著藝術品,在一陣並列有序的石林之中,純淨小孩與月亮之間的對話,因為光影有不同的陰影感覺,晨昏星夜都有不同變化,當藝術品結合都市的街道、社區中庭,就這樣成就了一個在地城市的夢想,創造了國際都市的概念,融入文化故事。
 
Self-destruction through every method
Art and culture. Art is not the privilege of royalty; it is not separated by nationality nor country. When talking about globalization, designer Wang mentioned: “I once saw two middle-eastern backpackers making lively gestures and taking pictures in front of eastern-styled sculptures in front of a building on the intersection of Shizeng Road and Huizhong Road. This is the inclusiveness and borderless quality of art!”
無所不用其極的  自我破壞
藝術與文化,藝術不是貴族的專屬,是不分國籍沒有國的,談到如何國際化?王設計師提到:曾經在市政惠中路一棟大樓前矗立著東方創作,看到有兩位中背包客在藝術雕塑品前比劃著身材手腳在拍照著,這就是藝術無國界的包容力!
 
Wang expressed a breakthrough strategy after being stereotyped: “Artistic creations are stereotyped both domestically and internationally. I am good at boldly communicating and breaking through the different opinions of business owners. This requires constant and strategic communication targeted at points of conflict in order to maintain the original intention of the work. Sometimes the process of creating requires complete opening up to all burdens and transforming it into a package of energy. I might be working with classical and modern architecture projects at the same time, for instance I have recently been working on the modern residential building “Huashan 33” near Huashan 1914 Creative Park. However, I have combined the red brick buildings of Huashan 1914 Creative Park with an artistic, creative atmosphere, inserting the culture of my new creative works. My space is like a sculpture, the style of the self that needs to be constantly challenged, combining the elements of local cultural environment; there is opportunity for breakthrough in all things!”
王大師對於被定型的看法則有突圍的謀略:在藝術的創作上,不管海內外藝術家都會被定型化,而我擅長更勇於去與業主溝通去突破不同的業主想法,要不斷的去往衝突點去衝突而突破障礙,一步步策略性的去突破,不用改變初衷的創作理念,有時候創作要全面性的拓展開來身上的包袱,進而轉變成一個能源包,我手邊可能同時有古典也有現代的建築個案,如同最近正進行華山文創旁的華山33是現代化的住宅建築風,但我以華山1914的紅磚建築結合文藝創作氛圍 ,融入了我的新創新文化,我的空間就像一個雕塑品,需要不斷的挑戰我風格,將基地的人文環境元素結合,是都可以去突破的!
 
How many different appetites can a generation contain?
When asked about creative opinions on sculpture and culture, Yu stated: “Art is the reflection of the procession of an age. The more we yearn for globalization, the more we need to be localized. Only through a spirit of localization can the essence of creation be seen. The living atmosphere reflected by our cultural environment can be seen through foreign foods, clothing, and weather. Living philosophy, the warmth and morals of man nurtured from local culture are important creative elements. For instance, some people say the most beautiful scenery in Taiwan is its people; this is the same warmth and touching element of human emotions.” As for the future creative path for young artists: “We live in the memory of life. We are reminded of the frivolousness of youth when listening to popular folk songs, and experience an inexplicable throb of the heart. This is the documentation of culture through song. For instance, sometimes I still crave for rice porridge with fermented bean curd, while children nowadays no longer like it. Different generations create different work; the rise of the internet age has changed creative thinking. Future students should travel overseas and observe different sights. Sometimes knowledge in books is slow and unable to keep up with the changes of time. The outside world is large and rapid; you need to expand your vision!”
一個時代  能存在幾種胃口?
余老師雕塑跟文化在創作上的見解?老師說:其實藝術創作本身就在反應一個時代的演進,越要走要國際化就要越在地化,在地化的精神才能看見創作的本質,從國外飲食穿著氣候….都可看見不同文化環境所呈現出來的生活氛圍,在地的文化所孕育給你的生活思維跟人的道德與溫度都是創作很重要的元素,就像有人說台灣最美的風景是人,是一樣的人情感動。」 對於年輕學子未來的創作路程,余老師說: 我們活在生活的記憶裡,聽到流行民歌會回憶起當年時代的年少輕狂,就會有莫名的悸動,就是用歌曲去記錄時代的一種文化,像有時候我依舊很喜歡吃稀飯配豆腐乳,而現在的小孩也許都不喜歡吃了,不同的世代產生不同的創作,網路時代的崛起改造了許多的創作思維,歷經一些思想上的轉變,未來學子要多出國去看看,書本念的有時候會太慢跟不上時代的變化,外面的世界無窮大和快速,要打開自我的視野格局!
 
The interpretable is the disposable
Artistic creation is itself a space for spiritual training. The two masters both stated that each cooperation with different business owners or creators from different fields is a great opportunity for growth; it is no longer single-minded inspiration, but the excitation of larger common creativity. Wang stated: “the spatial artist does not create for the sake of comforting or satisfying the mind, but rather as a necessity of the mind. With the concept of using Eastern materials with Western methods, Western philosophy and Eastern spirit can be developed and promoted, expressing the prosperity of different generations. However, in today’s world of fast technology, it is even more important for the mind to slow down and merge, but at the same time maintain essential qualities. Looking back at artwork from 1500 years ago, the modern eye experiences and contemplates through a gaze that enables large possibilities; therefore, art has the power of narrowing generational gaps! Sometimes the artist creates for livelihood, which entails the abandoning of burdens, the abilities of the self, thoughts and ways of the world. Which is why I always cooperate with other artists with high respect, because every creation is an eternally great cause!

可以被解讀出來的  就是要被放棄的
藝術在創作本身就是修行的道場,兩位大師都異口同聲的跟每一位業主、不同領域的創作者合作就是很大的成長,不再只是單一的思維而是激發出更大創意的共同體,王大師說:空間的藝術家不是安撫滿足是心靈上的必需,我以東道西器不同國度的思想,將西方的哲學與東方的精神發揚光大,隱喻著不同世代的榮耀興盛,但在科技時代速度越快心則要慢,需要去融合但本質是不改變的,回頭觀想欣賞一千五百年前的藝術創作,身為現人用極大可能的視訊去穿梭去感受去思考,所以藝術的力量可近世代的區隔性!當有時候是為了事業在創作,背後的包袱自我能力的思考與人情事故都要丟棄,因此我跟藝術家合作都抱持著高度尊重的角度立場,因為所有的創作都是永恆的偉業!
