The white ceramic chair next to the studio kiln reminds the viewer of the fun of childhood, just like entering the magical kingdom of The Wizard of Oz, while Snow White stands on top of the rusty window. Another work, the rabbit head that was recently displayed during the exhibition by Fubon Art Foundation and Folio Daan, is another popular work among collectors. The works of Hu Hui-Chin have a delicate and tender quality. Each flower petal on the white ceramic world opens a new world.
工作室窯燒爐旁矗立著白色的陶椅，童趣的模樣就像入了綠野仙蹤的奇幻之旅，繡鐵窗上站立一位童話故事的白雪公主，剛從富邦基金會的大安富藝旅展出的兔頭，也是收藏家競相標下的經典創作，胡慧琴的作品瀰漫著細膩纖細的溫柔，從白陶杯上摺綴著層疊的花蕊葉片，巧手一捻來就是一世界。 |

Beams of sunlight occasionally fall through the window and onto the works. Even a yawn from artist Hu Hui-Chin’s family member, a Labrador named “Yuan,” inspires her to create a cheerful work. For instance, the 2012 “Drawer Series” is created on the concept that “fragmented truths are purposefully hidden behind the sturdy shell of a drawer.” Curiosity drives us to tiptoe forward to discover the contents, but once Pandora’s Box is opened, an unending magical journey begins. In our modern age that values privacy while being immensely fond of gossip, open drawers hang from the wall while objects of stories are scattered in various corners. Both the concealed and the revealed express the deepest cry of humanity. Through decorative elements, every heart is like a drawer, sometimes in a mess, sometimes quiet and still. The viewers realize that the true meaning of drawers is to preserve memories. The drawer installation art of Hu Hui-Chin perfectly interprets the essence and traces of life.
陽光偶爾灑進窗沿閃耀著作品，老師新來的家人拉布拉多「圓仔」哈的一個欠，都能讓她神來一手的繼續揉捏出幸福無比的創作。例如『抽屜系列』，2012年《抽屜用強壯的外殼藏匿瑣碎的真實》的概念，在好奇心驅使下令人躡手躡腳地想一探究竟，一旦打開潘朵拉的秘密，就停不了的奇幻旅程，在當今極重視隱私卻極度八卦的矛盾時代，一幅幅宛如拉開的抽屜掛在牆際上，故事的物件散落在不同角落，隱藏與顯露都在訴說著人性的深處呼喚，透過裝飾元素，每個人心坎都有無形的幾個抽屜，時而凌亂，時而靜止，原來收藏回憶就是每抽屜的真諦，胡老師用抽屜裝置藝術，完美的演繹出一層層抽絲剝繭的人生軌跡。 |

Hu Hui-Chin said, “To create moving and soulful works, one must be able to converse with the material.” From the media and the handcrafting of the biscuit, and later coloring, glazing, and temperature control of the kiln, each step requires attentiveness and a calm and joyful spirit. The work requires special attention on the attractiveness and penetrating power of “nature” and the “environment”. Mindfulness is the energy for all her works. Hu Hui-Chin’s shy smile and her love towards plants and animals are expressed through her hands, transforming daily life for the better and creating surprising works that touches the heart. Artists like her are geniuses in creating heart-touching visuals through the wind, sounds, and all forms of life, bringing a universal telepathy of immense happiness and harmony to the visual and mind. We look forward to the next beautiful work from artist Hu Hui-Chin.
胡慧琴老師說：『要做出動人有靈魂的作品，一定要對此材質說話』，從陶土的媒材，在素土胚純手感捏塑後，上色、用釉、電窯溫控，每一個步驟都是極度細微而需要慢心快活，特別強調「自然」和「環境」的引誘力和穿透力，觀察力，是她所有作品的能量。胡慧琴老師靦腆的笑容，還有對於動植物的關愛，透過她的雙手，日常一切變得更美好，變得出奇不意的令人感動，這樣的藝術家就是神人，因為透過風，透過聲音，透過萬物生息，能夠轉換成大家視覺上心靈上的美麗幸福，帶給世界萬般的心電感應訊息，這就是最強大的快樂和諧能量，期待老師下一個美麗的手心預言。 |
